This year, KWF awarded several projects from RIHS and RIMLS reseachers.

KWF has awarded a grant to Paul Span, theme Women's Cancers.together with colleagues from Erasmus University Medical Center. They receive € 570.802,50 for the project: The role of APOBEC3B in breast cancer therapy resistance. 

KWF has awarded a grant to Mark Rijpkema, theme Urological cancers. He receives € 567.865,- for the project: Fluorescence image-guided surgery in patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis of colorectal origin. 

KWF has awarded a grant to Harry Dolstra, theme Cancer development and Immune defence, and Leon Massuger, theme Women’s cancers.  They receive € 987.463,20 for the project: Intraperitoneal infusion of ex vivo-generated allogeneic natural killer cells in recurrent ovarian carcinoma patients: a phase I study.

KWF has awarded a grant to Otto Boerman, theme Nanomedicine and Sandra Heskamp, theme Tumors of the digestive tract. They receive € 584.055,- for the project: Bimodal PSMA ligands for intra-operative tumor detection and photodynamic therapy of prostate cancer.

KWF has awarded a grant to Jacqueline Loonen, theme Rare cancers and coll. She receives € 438.068,20 for the project: Impaired Spermatogenesis and Testosterone Deficiency in Male Survivors of Childhood Cancer: a DCOG-LATER study. 

KWF has awarded a grant to Iris Nagtegaal,. Marjolijn Ligtenberg, Nicoline Hoogerbrugge  theme Tumors of the digestive tract and Jeroen van der Laaktheme Women's Cancers. They receive  € 459.300,30 for the project: Identify the patient and save the family - detecting hereditary pancreatic cancer. 

KWF has awarded a grant to Iris Nagtegaaltheme Tumors of the digestive tract together with colleagues from Academic Medical Center Amsterdam. They receive  € 1.142.391,50 for the project: Evaluation of optimal intervals for colonoscopy surveillance: a randomized trial. 

KWF has awarded a grant to Jeroen van der Laaktheme Women's Cancers. together with colleagues from Leiden University Medical Center. They receive  € 625.627,70 for the project: Chemotherapy or not? Practice changing approach for the selection of patients for accurate chemotherapy treatment after colon cancer diagnosis. 

KWF has awarded a grant to Frank van Leeuwen, theme Cancer development and Immune defence. He receives € 490.879,60 for the project: Breaking therapy resistance in IKZF1 deleted Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. 

KWF has awarded a grant to Peter Siersema, theme Tumors of the digestive tract together with colleagues from Maastricht University Medical Center. They receive  €399.418,90 for the project: Standardizing trAining for endoscopic resection of large non-pedunculated colorectal polyps: It is prime-time to change practice. 

KWF has awarded a grant to John Hermans, theme Rare cancers. He receives € 692.147,95 for the project: Diagnostic accuracy of contrast enhanced diffusion weighted MRI for liver metastases of pancreatic cancer: towards adequate staging of pancreatic cancer

KWF has awarded a grant to Angela Maas, theme Vascular damage together with colleagues from the Netherlands Cancer Institute. They receive € 791.175,10 for the project: Favorable and unfavorable effects of risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO) in women at high genetic risk of ovarian cancer. 

KWF has awarded a Young Investigators Grant (€ 656.250,-) to Sandra Heskamp, Theme Rare cancers for her project: Towards personalized use of immune checkpoint inhibitors by imaging of the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway.

KWF has awarded a Young Investigators Grant (€ 601.250,-) to Willemijn Hobo, theme Cancer development and Immune defence for her project: Boosting graft-versus-leukemia immunity by combining hypomethylating angents and immunotherapy in patients with acute myeloid leukemia.
